Arithmetic Loophole in Bell's Theorem: Overlooked Threat to Entangled-State Quantum Cryptography

چکیده

Bell's theorem is supposed to exclude all local hidden-variable models of quantum correlations. However, an explicit counterexample shows that a new class realistic models, based on generalized arithmetic and calculus, can exactly reconstruct rotationally symmetric probabilities typical two-electron singlet states. Observable are consistent with the usual employed by macroscopic observers, but counterfactual aspects sensitive choice calculus. Significant-Loophole-Free Test of Bell's Theorem with Entangled Photons.

Local realism is the worldview in which physical properties of objects exist independently of measurement and where physical influences cannot travel faster than the speed of light. Bell's theorem states that this worldview is incompatible with the predictions of quantum mechanics, as is expressed in Bell's inequalities. Previous experiments convincingly supported the quantum predictions. Yet, ...

Entangled state quantum cryptography: eavesdropping on the ekert protocol

Using polarization-entangled photons from spontaneous parametric down-conversion, we have implemented Ekert's quantum cryptography protocol. The near-perfect correlations of the photons allow the sharing of a secret key between two parties. The presence of an eavesdropper is continually checked by measuring Bell's inequalities. We investigated several possible eavesdropper strategies, including...

Quantum cryptography with entangled photons

By realizing a quantum cryptography system based on polarization entangled photon pairs we establish highly secure keys, because a single photon source is approximated and the inherent randomness of quantum measurements is exploited. We implement a novel key distribution scheme using Wigner's inequality to test the security of the quantum channel, and, alternatively, realize a variant of the BB...

One-way entangled-photon autocompensating quantum cryptography

A quantum cryptography implementation is presented that uses entanglement to combine one-way operation with an autocompensating feature that has hitherto only been available in implementations that require the signal to make a round trip between the users. Using the concept of advanced waves, it is shown that this proposed implementation is related to the round-trip implementation in the same w...

Expectation Value in Bells Theorem

We will demonstrate in this paper that Bell′s theorem (Bell′s inequality) does not really conflict with quantum mechanics, the controversy between them originates from the different definitions for the expectation value using the probability distribution in Bell′s inequality and the expectation value in quantum mechanics. We can not use quantum mechanical expectation value measured in experimen...
